Early research suggests that glycine may be effective for schizophrenia treatment in some situations and may help with leg ulcers or strokes. However, much more research is necessary to confirm these early findings. There is not enough evidence to suggest that glycine is effective for other uses. Glycine is classified as a dietary supplement (not a drug) and is, therefore, less strictly regulated than drugs.
